Dundon (Clay) Trailhead

The Dundon trailhead is located across the Elk River from the town of Clay at the mouth of Buffalo Creek.

The trailhead is approximately 12 miles south of the Ivydale trailhead and 4.4 miles north of the Hartland bridge. Many parking spots are available on a gravel lot along the Elk River with easy access to the trail.

Directions to Dundon (Clay) Trailhead: take I-79 to exit 34 Wallback / Clay, turning onto WV state route 36 toward Clay for 7 miles. Take the left fork onto WV state route 4 north for 2.5 miles. Veer right at the Go-Mart onto Main Street for 1.2 miles. Turn left across the bridge onto Triplett Ridge Road. Take the first right after you cross the bridge, turning sharply onto Buffalo Creek Road that heads down the hill. The trailhead is at the bottom of the road.
