Chili Cookoff to Benefit ERTF

The town of Clendenin is holding an international chili society (ICS) chili cookoff on Oct. 2nd to benefit the Elk River Trail Foundation and beautification of the trail in the Clendenin area. The event is being held on a cool autumn Saturday in Clendenin along the beautiful Elk River. Tickets are $10 for 15 tickets, with each ticket redeemable for a chili sample consisting of one or two bites. Chili tickets may be purchased onsite the day of the event. Awards will be presented for best traditional, homestyle and salsa. Sign up here if you’d like to participate as a cook in the chili event.

Coinciding with the chili event, a craft beer and wine event is being held on the same day. The inaugural event features craft beer and wines from throughout the Mountain State. Each ticket holder is entitled to samples of beer and wine from local and regional breweries and wineries. Multiple area bands will also be playing during the event. VIP ticket holders may enter at 11am and general admission at noon. The beer and wine event concludes at 4pm, but the bands will continue to play for at least two more hours. Visit the Chili’N on the Elk website for more information. Tickets for the craft beer and wine event are only $20 ($30 for VIP) and may be purchased online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/chilin-on-the-elk-beer-wine-festival-tickets-159332093581.
