The WV DNR has completed construction of the new Blue Creek public river access point located on state route 119 just north of the Blue Creek bridge. The new river access point includes ample parking on a black top surface and improved access to the river for boats and kayaks.
The previous Blue Creek access point remains accessible under the Blue Creek bridge. This access point includes a concrete ramp ideal for transporting small boats including canoes and kayaks, with concrete steps along the ramp and a pad at the bottom of the ramp for boat entry and exit. At least eight parking spots are available on a gravel lot underneath the bridge.
Directions to Blue Creek River Access Point: Take I-79 Exit 9. Take Frame Road (CR-11) towards Elkview until the road ends at the stop sign. Turn left onto US Route 119 north for 1.5 miles. Just after you pass the Blue Creek bridge on the right, turn right into the DNR parking lot.
