Location Description
Owned and operated by WV Division of Natural Resources. This access is designed for boats with trailers. Parking area and ramp have lighting. This access is at the northernmost end of the Town of Clendenin. Starting at either access at Queen Shoals, this takeout would provide an excellent float into the Town of Clendenin. This access is also a trailhead for Elk River Trail.

Directions From I-79
From I-79 exit 19 (Clendenin) (4.1 miles): Head south on Bufflick Rd toward US-119 - 482 ft. Continue on US-119 S - 2.7 mi., turning right at a stop sign and proceeding 0.1 mi Turn left across the bridge onto French St - 0.1 mi. Turn left onto Maywood Ave W - 0.8 mi. to intersection with Main Street. Continue straight on Maywood Ave E 0.9 mi.to DNR’s North Clendenin boat launch.
Accessibility
Paved ramp to river. This site is designed for trailers and shallow water vessels. Closes at 10:00 pm nightly. Ease of access to river: easy. This site is handicapped accessible but there is no handicapped dock launch for kayaks. Handicapped parking sites available. No other handicap amenities present.
